Use rubbing alcohol method explained above or carpet detergent to lift any remaining dye from the wax from the carpet. As the melted body wax hardens it sticks to the carpet nap. If you cannot react immediately you can still clean up the mess after the wax solidifies.

Lay the plastic bag directly onto the area of your carpet with the wax stain. This is the easiest method for removing any solid stain from the carpet and it works especially great with candle wax. In the case of skin follow the directions for use on the package instructions. While the methods below are safe for removing wax from clothing carpeting and hard surfaces like tile they should not be used to remove excess wax from skin.

Remove the plastic bag and begin to scrape the wax off the carpet using a dull knife. Take immediate action to clean up the wax spill. The longer any stain sits on the carpet the more difficult it is to remove. Do this a few times to ensure you ve gotten rid of as much wax as possible with the knife.

Fill a plastic bag with ice. Place a brown paper bag or card stock over the wax stain and keep a towel nearby to protect the rest of the carpet. Wax on carpet or fabric you will need. To remove wax from carpet use a knife or plastic card to scrape up excess dried wax.

Let the wax freeze for a few minutes. Mix one 1 2 tablespoon of carpet detergent with 2 cups of warm water.
